1. Spices - they may seem expensive but actually investing in a small jar of mixed spice/chilli powder/paprika etc. will actually last a long time and add flavour to all your meals.
2. Rolled Oats - These are a great ingredient as they can be used for so much incluing porridge, granola bars and overnight oats.
3. Mixed Nuts - Having these in your cupboard helps when you get a craving for a snack, instead of going to the biscuit tin go for these instead!
4. Herbs - Again, they seem extravagant but potted herb plants are actually quite cheap and they last for a long time if you water them properly. Add a handful to your meal and add flavour and nutrients.
5. Natural Yoghurt - Again this is an ingredient that can be used for so much! Have it with fresh fruit for a healthy breakfast or add it as a side dip to a curry or wrap!
