Can't find time to go to the gym? Want to exercise but don't want to spend money? Try out some of these functional training exercises that you can do from the comfort of your flat/house.

When we talk about functional training we are talking about activities essential for daily living, this is particularly important as you get older but for now try out these simple exercises to give yourself a little workout during the day!

1. Stair Climbing - It sounds crazy but using stairs is something we take for granted and they can actually be a pretty useful piece of equipment, so simple see how many rounds of walking up and down the stairs you can do before you get tired! Be careful when doing this so you don't slip!

2. Squats - Ever thought about the movement you make when you sit down on a chair? Squats!! Do 10 reps take a minute break and continue for three rounds.

3. Deadlifts with shopping bags - We all hate carrying our shopping home specially when it's heavy, so now make those heavy bags useful and use them to build up your upper body strength!
