For anyone who suffers from cramps during exercise and is unsure why here are some common causes and how to prevent them.

Cramps occur due to the involuntary contraction of muscles with force, this can happen at any time, so if your unsure why you are getting muscle cramps here are a few common causes:
Muscle Fatigue: When you exercise your muscles contract and lengthen so when they get tired they can often cause cramps.
Dehydration: If you do not have a good fluid intake when exercising this can cause your muscles to contract involuntarily.
How to prevent muscle cramps: Make sure you always remember to warm up and cool down when exercising. If you do not warm up your muscles properly before exercise then they will not be properly stretched and you are likely to cause damage.
Keep hydrated- remember to always drink plenty when exercising, especially water.
Try using equipment such as a foam roller after your workout to increase the circulation of blood
